Dennis Basso premieres 2012 bridal collection for Kleinfield

Dennis Basso, known as the designer who incorporates luxurious furs and red carpet dressing has launched “a dream come true”, bridal collection for Kleinfeld Bridal.

This collection is based on the classic bride looking for a modern contemporary feel.  Each gown is hand finished with fine embroidery and beading for the extra panache or it is very simple and sleek giving a fine classic line.

The usage of duchess satin, Charmeuse, taffeta and Venice lace along with his trademark fur boleros made of sheared mink and use of organza flowers completed the look on his collection.  It was to make the ‘red carpet’ experience for his bride.

“Designing a bridal collection for me was simply an extension of my love for luxury furs and occasion dressing…Making a woman feel special and glamorous has always been my desire.”  Seems to me, we will be seeing a lot more of Mr. Basso in the coming seasons.

St. Pucchi unveils poetic 2012 bridal collection

It is hard to pick a favorite from the 23 statement pieces for the St. Pucchi 2012 collection.  Inspired by the 13th century poet and philosopher Rumi, this collection was designed to reflect evolution and movement.

“Rumi believed that the spirit undergoes many an evolutionary process to become close to the divine ego,” says Rani. “ I wanted to reflect an evolutionary process in the line as well.  Each gown has a traditional basis but reflects movement in time and a modernized feel for today’s bride.”

Rani has captured this feel by using the lightest fabrics and created airy textures that she is known for.  This collection truly transcends time and the beautiful usage of the Queen Anne neckline, modernized panels of silk, pearls and crystals are breathtaking.

In an effort to create something for everyone, there are an additional 11 whimsical and fun St. Pucchi Sposa gowns.  Ranging from off the shoulder scoop necklines dresses to blush colored gowns or tea length dresses, the only problem is deciding which one to choose.

Claire Pettibone 2012 Bridal Collection

Claire Pettibone is one of those designers with which you instantly feel a warm and fuzzy feeling.  She looks in your eyes when she speaks with you; she often puts her hand on your arm and shoulder and you instantly feel her undying love for the wedding business and brides worldwide.

Last season the Pettibone collection was all about the whimsical fairy.  This collection, Claire continues to capture the Spirit of the Night but in a truly regal way. Constance, Emmeline, Frances, Louisa and Norah are just a few of the names of the gowns that have jeweled eyelet lace, fluttering sleeves, silk flowers or flower trimmings.  Each gown must be for the queen of the fairies as  a regal look and feel about them.

I do believe that even though many brides will choose Claire Pettibone as the “beach wedding” dress to go to, don’t be fooled.  There are big wedding, bringing-sexy-back appeal to them as well.  What she wants the bride to remember is that people will see you twice: Once as you walk down the aisle and the second time as you stand there and your back should be just as view-worthy.  These are!
