Everyone is always asking me “How can I attend NYFW?” Well, if you’re a client of mine, you know how. However I just received this opportunity from my friends at Live & Modern.
Live and Modern is a New York City-based fashion show and event production company and they are looking for a few good fashion week production interns from January 23rd – February 17th, for New York Fashion Week.
The position involves working 3-5 days per week, 8 hours per day assisting with all aspects of pre-show and event organization and as backstage production assistant for high-profile New York Fashion Week designer shows, taking place between February 8th – 16th 2012. All work is done out of the company’s downtown Manhattan offices. So don’t get me wrong – you may or MAY NOT actually attend a show, but the connections & relationships that you will build are priceless.
Qualified candidates must be detail oriented, natural organizers with excellent written and verbal skills, and an ability to work very quickly and independently.
Fluency in all Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point is required, and familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus. Experience assisting backstage at New York fashion shows, events or as a styling assistant is preferred.
This position is unpaid however school credit can be offered. Interns will receive a metrocard for days worked and compensation of $25 per day on show days during NYFW.
If interested, please send a resume with cover letter to: NYFWProductionIntern@gmail.com
Hey remember you have to start somewhere and if you are truly serious about fashion, this is a great start. Hope to see you under the tents.
