Wine Wednesday: Healthy drinks by Couture Cocktail Concepts

It’s the first Wednesday of the month and of course it was a slight challenge to find cocktails for our Wine Wednesday that would be tasty as well as have the ability to bring it up a notch (read: bring in the alcohol) if you wanted to.  I happened to find a NY based company called Couture Cocktail Concepts. They will help couples put together a cocktail program that fits your personality and theme for your wedding (or other swanky party you want to have).  Using only premium brands they can whip up a drink faster than you can say “Hit Me”.

So on behalf of April being the month I’ve dedicated to stress-free brides and grooms, why not mix a few of these up and enjoy.

White Wedding

4 oz. White Grape Juice

1 oz. Rose’s Lime Juice

Sparkling Cider

Combine the White Grape Juice and lime juice together and shake.  Strain into a champagne glass and top with the cider.  This is fun to garnish with en edible flower.

To make the alcoholic version, you can add 2 ounces of Ciroc Vodka (distilled from grapes) and ½ oz of triple sec.  Nix the cider and shake the rest of it into a martini glass.

Pretty in Pink

2 oz. Whole Milk or Cream

1 oz. Strawberry Puree

½ oz.  Grenadine

1 Dash Vanilla Extract

Combine and shake into a martini glass and garnish with a strawberry.

To make the alcoholic version, you can add 2 ounces of white rum and a ½ ounce of Crème de Cacao.

Cherry Fix (this is for the guys and no it’s not non-alcoholic sorry)

2 oz. Makers Mark Bourbon

1 oz. Sweet Vermouth

3 Dashes Fee Brothers Cherry Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a rocks glass and stir.  Garnish with a whole cherry and a lemon twist.

I agree that there should be a themed cocktail that invokes good memories and fun times.  After all, this is your wedding and it’s all about good fun, good friends and of course good cocktails.
